Straighten Hair the Healthy Way

how to straighten hair without heat

Do you love having straight hair but hate the heat damage that comes with it?  I know I do. I straighten my hair all of the time using heat and now I have split ends. I could have prevented those split ends but also enjoyed beautiful, healthy, hair if I had known this trick.

Here's what you need:
  1. Straightening Shampoo and Conditioner
  2. Large Rollers
  3. Roller Clips
  4. Straight Hair Spray
Step One: To remove possible frizz and curls, use good quality shampoo that will help with the straightening of the hair.

Step Two: Once you have towel-dried the hair, group it into sections and put it in large rollers. The larger the roller the better. Once the hair is in the rollers, let it dry.

Step Three: Once the hair has completely dried, spray it with hairspray and then take out the rollers.

Healthy Eating Provides Lasting Beauty

No one wants their skin to be unhealthy, wrinkly, or dry. Yes, the special creams in your bathroom may help this situation to some extent, but I know a way that can improve your skin and cost a whole lot less. It's not a secret; it's a super practical way to get beautiful, healthy, younger-looking skin in no time.

Eat healthy! Eating healthy will not only make you look better, but it will make you feel better as well. "Good nutrition is a fundamental building block of healthy skin," says Leslie Baumann, MD, a Miami Beach dermatologist. If a dermatologist says it, you better believe it!

Here is a list of five healthy foods that you might consider purchasing on your next grocery run.
  1. Romaine Lettuce -- Six leaves provide more than 100% of your daily value of vitamin A, which revitalizes skin by increasing cell turnover.
  2. Tomatoes -- Tomatoes help protect against sunburn and help prevent sagging.
  3. Strawberries -- A cup of strawberries has up to 100% of the daily value of vitamin C, a potent antioxidant that boosts production of collagen fibers that help keep skin smooth and firm.
  4. Apples -- Quercetin, an antioxidant in the peel of many varieties of apples, provides hefty protection from the "burning" UVB rays that trigger skin cancer.
  5. Eggs -- Lutein and zeaxathin, two antioxidants found in eggs, more than quadrupled protection against the UV damage that leads to lines, brown spots, and cancer in one study on women.

Manicure at Home

Painting your nails can often be messy. Nail Polish can get all over your fingers and make your hands look very sloppy. One way to fix the mess is to put Elmer's glue around your fingernails.

Here are the steps:
1) Wash and dry your hands- clean hands are happy hands!
2) Apply Elmer's glue around each finger nail- the best way to do it is with a paintbrush
3) Once the glue is dry, paint nail polish on fingernails
4) Once the nail polish is dry, peel off the glue
5) Enjoy your beautiful nails!

Long Hair, Do Care

Long hair can sometimes be a pain, but keeping it healthy is something that must be done. Here are a few tips on keeping your long hair healthy and beautiful.

1) Trim, Trim, Trim - One to two inches is a good length for a trim every one to two months. Split ends make hair look super unhealthy, so make sure they are gone!
2) Keep your hair protected from the sun - Your skin is not the only thing that needs sun protection!! The sun can damage your gorgeous hair by removing the moisture. So next time you spend a while outside, wear a hat. Hats are fun and stylish anyways!
3) Have healthy habits- Your hair will profit from eating healthy, exercising, and taking vitamins.
